Partnerships with schools are incredibly valuable to The Children’s Literacy Charity. We work closely with teaching staff in each one of our schools to deliver the highest quality partnerships that deliver direct impact for children and young people.
Literacy Labs can have huge benefits for children who are struggling to keep up with the level of their peers in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Amy and Georgia are Year 2 teachers at Heathbrook Primary School, Lambeth. They had this to say about the work of our Literacy Lab tutors:
“Georgia and I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all of your hard work and support with our children through the Literacy Lab.
We both feel that the work you’ve done has been absolutely amazing for our children this year. Without you, we would not have been able to provide the one-to-one support that a large group of our year 2 cohort required.
You are both always so understanding, have built great relationships with each of our children and are excellent at communicating with us and supporting our learning in the classroom.
Our children have not only made fantastic progress academically, but also it has worked wonders for their confidence.
We think Literacy Lab is invaluable for our children, for both reading and assessment purposes and we hope that it continues next year.
Thanks Amy and Georgia (Year 2 Teachers, Heathbrook Primary School)
