To ensure that The Children’s Literacy Charity continues to deliver the highest quality services and support we recruit the most talented individuals who are committed to helping children read. If you share our vision of empowering children through better literacy skills then why not work with us?
Head of Educational Development (interim)
The Children’s Literacy Charity (formerly Springboard for Children) has over 25 years of experience of delivering successful, high quality literacy interventions for children. After our recent renaming and with a new CEO in post we are moving into the next chapter. We aspire to being a national organisation, working in 5 cities over the next 5 years and a leader within the literacy education world.
Can you help us on our journey? We are looking for a strategic, passionate and experienced individual to help us achieve our aspiration, of being in more places, for more children, more often. This role will lead the engagement of the education sector and cement our position as a high-quality, delivery organisation, through working in partnerships. You will be key to the on-going success of the organisation.
You will be joining a team of highly motivated and supportive staff who are committed to seeing children’s lives changed for the better through our charitable work. We have set ourselves a bold ambition, and we need the right individual who can support the CEO and the Trustees in their vision for the future. The successful applicant will be agile, entrepreneurial and also able to shape the detail of what a high-quality literacy approach can achieve. Ideally you will be an experienced senior teacher, with a passion for literacy, experienced in managing interventions and who has worked across a number of schools. Experience of influencing policy and practice at local and at a national level would be desirable.
This role is an interim role for up to six months, whilst we work up the strategy for our future, so we are looking for a part time individual for up to 4 days per week. We are open to conversations with applicants from inside and outside of London. Application is through CV and covering letter. Your covering letter should detail how you would approach engaging the education sector in our work, raising the profile of The Children’s Literacy Charity at a national level, whilst ensuring we deliver high quality operational work on a day to day basis.
