The Children’s Literacy Charity highly values the support it receives from volunteers. All our volunteers receive the highest quality training that equips them with the skills to enter a school or community space to deliver the intervention with confidence.
Volunteers can help children to develop their literacy abilities using our intervention per week over three terms. Volunteers use phonics-based tuition in a multi-sensory way, along with reading activities and literacy games in a fun way that help children and young people with spelling and comprehension.
Volunteering for The Children’s Literacy Charity Children is a hugely rewarding and enjoyable experience that gives individuals and groups the opportunity to make a real difference in children and young people’s early development.
All volunteers for The Children’s Literacy Charity receive:
- High-quality training alongside ongoing support from an experienced supervisor
- The chance to learn new skills
- Opportunities to make a real and lasting difference to a child’s life and future prospects
- Training on the responsibilities of working with children and young people through safeguarding
People volunteer for a variety of reasons but all of them have a determination to support children to improve their literacy.
Many of our volunteers go on to become experts, working directly for The Children’s Literacy Charity in schools and community spaces. If you would like to talk to us about how volunteers could help you, your school or community please get in touch: 020 7740 1008.
