Use our sequencing boosters to become a Sequencing Superhero! Try out our clever strategies as you read your next book.
Matching Numbers
Write out the numbers 1 – 5 in order. Now, write the main events from the chapter you have just read next to each number. Make sure they are in the correct order!
Comic Strip Sequencing
Draw 4–6 boxes on a page. In each box, draw a key event and write a short sentence about it. Put the boxes in the order that the events happened.
Beginning, Middle, End
Split a blank page into three sections: Beginning, Middle, End. Write or draw the most important events in each section. Try doing this after each chapter or after finishing the whole book.
Key Event Tracker
While reading, make a running list of important events as they happen. After finishing the book, check your list and number the events in the correct sequence.
Create a timeline
Draw a simple timeline to show all the main events from the story. There should be no more than 10. Next, add short sentences or illustrations for each event.
Event Cards
Write the key events from the story on post-it notes. Shuffle them and then put them back in the correct order.
You can also include a “prediction card” for what might happen next.
