Reading Lab tutor x2
We are looking for tutors to deliver our Reading Lab programme.
There are two roles available, one is maternity cover in a primary school in Lambeth, London SE11, the other is in a secondary school in Bromley, Kent BR7.
The roles are part-time, 2 days a week, with a start date in September 2026 for three terms initially. The salary is £105 per day.
You will be tutoring 15 students on a one-to-three basis. You will tutor the pupils twice a week on our 10-week catch up reading comprehension programme. Full training and induction will be provided along with ongoing support.
Requirements
We are looking for tutors who can build supportive and encouraging relationships with children and help them reach their potential, undertake assessments, maintain accurate records that produce impact data, and forge a strong relationship with the partner school team.
You will be:
- an experienced teacher, literacy tutor or high level teaching assistant
- able to demonstrate empathy, understanding and patience towards children who require additional support
- competent in Microsoft Office packages
- able to show excellent communication and organisational skills
- a pro-active self-starter who enjoys working under own initiative
- able to reliably travel to the school within the times specified

Reading Lab tutor job description
Senior Literacy Tutor x1
We are looking for a Senior Literacy Tutor to deliver our Literacy Lab programme
You will be tutoring the programme in our partner school in Lambeth, London SW8. The role is part-time, two days a week and term-time only.
You will be tutoring primary aged pupils on a one-to three basis on their phonics and literacy skills using our own multisensory programme. You will receive full training and induction into the programme.
You will have teaching or tutoring experience with primary aged children and be able to nurture positive relationships with children and school personnel. You will have experience of undertaking assessment and the skills to build confidence in areas that the children find challenging and be able to engage with them positively.
Alongside the teaching/tutoring experience this role requires excellent organisational skills, to be able to work autonomously within our assigned programme, proficient with Microsoft packages and the ability to reliably travel to the school within the times specified.
This role is for three academic terms until Summer 2027 with a start date in September 2026. The pro-rated salary is £9,480 per annum (£23,700 FTE).
