Reader Leader Trainers (Freelance)
We are expanding our education team to meet the demands for our Reader Leader Programme training and are seeking one or more Freelance Literacy Trainers to help deliver the programme across England.
Our Reader Leader programme is a one-to-one mentoring scheme where a more confident older student (The Leader: usually a Year 5/6 or Y11/12 pupil) is paired with a less confident, younger reader (Y2/3 or Y7/8 pupil depending on primary or secondary school). Leaders receive training from the charity in everything from phonics to how to deliver a successful reading session. Taking part gives them the opportunity to try out new skills and gain valuable mentoring experience and contribute to the school community.
We are looking for experienced trainers with a background in literacy who will work with us to help promote the programme and confidently deliver an engaging one-day training course in schools. You will receive training from our Education Lead on our bespoke programme.
The ability to be able to travel is a must. You may be based in London, Midlands, North or East but willing to travel within a large radius and easily be able to access routes to other areas. We often work with schools in Derbyshire, Birmingham, Hertfordshire, Leicester, Stoke, Kent and London. We have longer distance schools in Northumberland, Norfolk and Cornwall. All travel expenses are re-imbursed and overnight stays agreed where appropriate.
These are freelance roles working on an adhoc basis on a daily rate of £200 (Secondary) or £140 (Primary).
To apply please read the job information below and fully complete the application form by 5th September 2025.
