Schools Programme Manager – Midlands (3 days pw / Term Time Only / 1 year FTC)
We have an exciting new role in our Midlands region for a Schools Programme Manager to manage a cohort of Literacy and Reading Labs in our partner schools.
Managing a team of skilled Literacy and Reading Lab tutors across several schools, you will have operational responsibility for the running and quality assurance of our expert labs, working in close partnership with our Education team, tutors and school staff – contributing to the continuous improvement of the charity’s school-based educational provision. The postholder will also build relationships with prospective school partners and multi academy trusts to help grow the charity’s presence beyond the existing school portfolio in this region.
The ideal applicant will have solid experience in teaching or tutoring primary aged children with literacy difficulties, experience in managing or supervising staff (including lesson observation and feedback), delivering training and excellent communication skills developed from working with a range of stakeholders. A broad understanding of the education environment and an interest and commitment to closing the literacy gap is key, as is the ability to organise and prioritise your workload effectively and be willing to travel across different partner schools in the Midlands.

The role is 3 days per week, term-time only. Initially for 1 year with the potential to be extended subject to funding. The role is hybrid working across partner schools and home. The salary is £28,500 FTE (£17,100 pro-rated).

Communications Lead – Central London (2 days pw minimum / 1 year FTC)
The charity has grown significantly over recent years, delivering its high impact Literacy and Reading Lab programmes to children who need the most help to catch up with their better off peers. This includes children experiencing economic disadvantage or who may have special educational needs or have English as an additional language.
To support this growth, we have created a new role of Communications Lead to develop and implement a highly effective and targeted communications plan. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead on all areas of our existing communications work.
We are looking for a skilled and adaptable communications professional able to think strategically, write brilliantly, produce high quality work quickly with good attention to detail. As part of a small head office team you will also have a flexible approach to your role as needs change. Experience of the charity and/or education sector would be a considerable advantage, but as important will be a ‘can do’, problem solving attitude and a belief in the importance of life-changing literacy.

Candidates must be able to easily travel into Central London on a minimum of one day a week; additional office days may be required at times and occasional travel out of London.
This role is for 1 year with the potential to be extended subject to funding. The role is for a minimum of 2 days per week with the potential to go up to 3 days as workload demands. The salary is £38,000 per annum FTE.
