Fundraising for us
We rely on voluntary donations. Without the help of our committed supporters, we couldn’t provide our life-changing literacy tuition. Could you get involved and help us achieve our mission?
From Readathons, to bake sales, or even marathons, we have an idea for everyone’s tastes and interests. We’ll support you every step of the way, and provide the materials you need to make sure your event is a success.
Whisk for Words!
We all love a bake sale and you and your business can get involved with our exciting new bake sale fundraiser Whisk for Words! A bake sale is also a great fundraiser for schools and community groups and everyone can get involved and raise money to help disadvantaged children to catch up with their literacy. You can plan your event at anytime of the year – what delicious recipes and words will you whisk up? Download the poster to get started – here: Whisk for Words Bake Sale Poster and Flyer and for a festive themed Whisk for Words download this poster here: Whisk for Words Festive Bake Sale Poster and you can tag us on social media @childsliteracy and using the hashtag #WhiskforWords

FESTIVE EXCLUSIVE: Join our team in the Santa in the City Run this December!
Santa in the City 5km run is back in 2021, and will now be happening on both the 1st & 2nd December. We do hope you can join us for London’s most festive and most iconic 5km Santa Run.
The route will start with you crossing the world-famous Millennium Bridge and this is your chance to run through the City of London in a Santa suit whilst raising funds for The Children’s Literacy Charity!
You will then run along the South Bank, continue over Southwark Bridge, pass the Tower of London and Tower Bridge and then head through the City to the finish in Paternoster Square.
You thought it couldn’t get better! Once again, this is a truly iconic route and this event will definitely get you feeling festive! Do bring all the family along.
- The charity will cover the £30 registration fee (no fee for children) and all runners are required to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.
- The route is relatively flat and you can run, walk or jog your way around this challenge. Beginners are welcome, but we would recommend some training beforehand.
- Everyone who registers receives a Santa Suit (includes a Santa hat & beard), running number, and medal. All Santa suits are given out on the day of the event.
